Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in Acupuncture.
Acupuncture is practiced in our office with and without needles.
It has been proven to be very effective for acute, chronic and difficult
cases. We have helped thousands of folks in the community since
1980. We have treated high school, college, and professional athletes
... along with the weekend warrior.
Most Common Questions:
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
The answer is simple. Absolutely not! The needles are so very thin,
oftentimes you feel nothing at all. Occasionally they feel like
a minor mosquito bite. So even the most squeamish rarely
have an issue with the needles ... but for those who just can’t
stand the idea of a needle, we use pressure point techniques.
Is Acupuncture Safe?
There are rarely side effects with acupuncture. On rare occasions
a patient gets a very minor bruise. We use never before used,
sterilized needles. In over 28 years, and literally thousands
of patients we have never had an infection.
What does Acupuncture Really Do?
Acupuncture does many things. It increases circulation, reduces
muscle spasms, releases endorphins for pain control. Further
it oftentimes has a calming effect. It balances what is known
as “meridians.” This helps in healing the body.
What Conditions Does it Help?
Too many to list completely ... but what we see mostly is: headaches,
migraines, sinus, back-neck-joint pain, arthritis, bursitis,
tendinitis, sciatica, herniated or bulged discs, chronic pain,
asthma, menstrual pain, ear infections, TMJ, sports injuries,
whiplash, and carpal tunnel. |
